About the Society:

We are a friendly society of about 40 members, who welcome all new members, especially tenors and basses at the beginning of each session - September, January or April.

The Sandwich and District Choral Society gives four concerts a year in several different venues, the majority of concerts being performed in St. Clement's Church Sandwich. These include a major Autumn concert in November, a Carol Concert in December, another major Spring Concert in March and a light concert in May/June for a specific charity usually local to Sandwich.

For details of our next concerts please visit the programme page.

Other activities include"Bring and Buy" sales at the end of two rehearsals in the year and a sociable "Nosh and Knowledge" event to boost our funds.

We are particularly grateful to Pfizer and Sandwich Town Council who support us generously and to our long standing Patrons.

During the last ten years performances have included:
Messiah, and Israel in Egypt by G.F. Handel,
The Creation by Haydn
Requiem, Solemn Vespers and Coronation Mass by Mozart,
Magnificat by Pergolesi
English Choral works by Stanford, Psalm 150 by Cesar Franck
and most recently A Mass for Peace by Karl Jenkins.
The Summer concert has included madrigals, Captain Noah and Negro Spirituals.
